That’s why for the eleventh year, volunteers are preparing for near sellout capacity at the Empty Bowls Dinner, an annual benefit for the Brattleboro Area Drop In Center. The Drop In Center is an essential resource for people in need in Brattleboro and the surrounding areas, who depend on it for food, shelter and other basic services. Empty Bowls serves as a major source of funds for the Center.

We will have local farmers selling product fresh from the farm, craft makers and local artisans with their treasures to sell, demonstrations, local food venders with bluegrass music. We will have live bluegrass music for you to enjoy along with some craft demonstrations.

Amid the colorful Fall Foliage on the village streets and surrounding hillsides, talented artists and craftpeople display their creative efforts. Locals and tourists return year after year for this signature event in southeastern Vermont. Juried Arts, Crafts, & Specialty Products are sold in the 96 Exhibitor spaces. Each year there are wonderful new exhibitors along with long-time favorites.

Who was Mr. Greening and what was his claim to fame? ome visit us on Apple Tasting Day and buy mixed bags of heirloom apples or many of one kind for eating out of hand, sauce making, pie baking, or a Tarte Tatin.

Dummerston Apple Pie Fest

Oct 11 • For 40+ years, the Dummerston Apple Pie Festival has been held each year on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend, the peak of colorful autumn foliage in Southern Vermont. A full 1500 apple pies are made by many church members and friends and proudly served with Vermont cheese and hand churned ice cream. A farmer’s breakfast, grilled lunch, tag sale, and craft fair make the festival a whole day event. Folks from all over the Northeast travel by motorcycle and automobile to take part in the festivities.
