Aug 10-Sept 23: The Guild of Vermont Furniture Makers Annual Summer Show. Opening: Aug 5, 5:30p-8:30p. Artisan Designs and Gallery 2 house an extensive showcase of fine art and hand-crafted gifts. In addition to the fine art and sculpture found in Gallery 2, the works of more than 350 American craftspeople are on display. Unique jewelry, blown glass, pottery, wrought iron, pewter, turned wood, jewelry boxes, clocks, chimes and the famed Vermont Folk Rocker, are just some of the hard-to-find items available.

Thru June 30: Terry Jenoure Abuela’s Last Wedding, an installation of mystical fabric and found object sculpture. Thru June 30: Laurel Hausler: New work from neo-expressionist artist utilizing both collage and oil paintings of images drawn from the ghosts of the past. July 1-Aug. 28: Regional show including painters Richard Heller and Leonard Ragouzeos, and textile artist Karen Kamenetzky. July 1-Aug. 28: Gwen Murphy struts out with a show on surreal shoes. Sept. 2-Oct.: Glenn Wolff, illustrator and artist in residence for many environmental organizations, explores the mystical interchange with nature in his paintings. May 27-May 30 Grand opening of the Grafton Valley Arts Guild gallery in the historic Cricketers Building in the heart of Grafton. The juried guild opens with a new art space and a group show of all their members called Inception, May 27, 2-6p featuring a variety of mediums including: sculpture, iron, textile, photography, painting, collage, wood and ceramics. May 28 several of the members will have their private studios open in town as part of Open Studio Weekend. The Cricketers Gallery will be open from 10a-6p. May 29 same schedule with a day’s end cocktail party at the Phelps Barn at The Old Tavern At Grafton featuring Grafton Village Cheese. Memorial Day the Cricketers Gallery will be open from 10a-6p followed by a fundraising dinner at the White Chapel (4 Main St.) 6-8p. Prepared by Chef Bryce LeVan Cushing, featuring local cheese, produce and bread, the dinner includes soup, salad, entree and dessert. No one turned away for lack of funds, $15 suggested donation, BYOB.
